Welcoming 2024: A Toast to Sobriety and New Beginnings

As we usher in the new year, I’m taking a moment to reflect on the festive season, particularly the unique journey of staying sober during a time traditionally filled with toasts and celebrations. Let me tell you, while others were clinking glasses of champagne, my surgery pina colada (a cheeky mix of pineapple juice and coconut water, topped with a tiny umbrella) didn't quite pack the same punch – but it sure did leave me without any regrets the next morning!

The holidays often present a complex blend of joyous reunions and challenging temptations, making our commitment to sobriety both more significant and more demanding. It’s a period that truly tests our resilience and reminds us of the power of our choice to live sober.

The new year symbolizes a fresh start, a chance to carry forward the lessons we've learned and the strengths we've gained. For anyone finding it tough, remember, you're not alone in this journey. My niece and her son Benny have been a source of immense joy and strength for me. Their laughter and presence remind me of the richness that sobriety brings to our lives. It's in these familial moments that we find true contentment and realize the depth of our journey.

As we step into 2024, I encourage us all to relish the laughter, cherish the growth, and bask in the heartwarming moments of connection. Sobriety is more than an individual choice; it’s a collective journey of togetherness, love, and understanding – shared with those who matter most.

So here's to a new year filled with love, laughter, and the priceless moments with our loved ones. Let's continue to support and uplift each other on this path of sobriety, celebrating each step  with the joy and togetherness it deserves.

Happy New Year to all!

With love and a splash of pineapple juice,
